Here are some videos I've put together to help people that are just getting into Google's SketchUp 3D CAD Program. While I've targeted new PhlatPrinter CNC owners as my audience, these videos are great tools for learning this application as it pertains to the design of Radio Controlled Model Aircraft.

I didn't know anything about designing in 3D until I purchased my PhlatPrinter CNC machine, but since the machine requires the generation of gCode and that code is most easily generated from a free plugin for SketchUp, I figured I should spend the time necessary to learn how to use it. As it turns out, this application is, by far, the easiest to learn CAD application anywhere, and best of all, it's FREE!

I worked up these videos with the rankest beginner in mind and tried to work the simple curriculum around the ways that people (like me and with no prior exposure to a program like this) think. It may seem like I skip around a bit, but if you follow the videos in order you'll have the basics down in no time!

When you're ready for more advance techniques with this application, you can simply search the online video providers (YouTube, Google, etc.) for tons of instructional information!

If you click on the icon on the lower right-hand part of the video window, you can go full screen which will allow you to better see what's going on.
